The Chrome Operating System schedules itself for automatic updates, based on the highest version allowed by the Technology Department.  Version restrictions are in place to insure that applications such as State testing applications will function properly.  There are times when Chrome will automatically update its Operating System, and will not be able to complete the update on its own.  If you notice that you have to help it out, here's how:

  1. On your Chromebook, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More More.
  3. Select Help and then About Google Chrome
  4. To see if your device is up to date, go to Chrome OS Settings.  Click on Chrome OS Settings.
  5. Select Check for updates.
  6. If there are updates available it will  download them. Select Relaunch to finish the process.
  7. Chrome states "Your Chromebook is up to date" when you have the latest version.
